Police Logs: $1,500 in Jewelry Stolen from Home, Over $6K in Equipment Stolen from Simonds Park

Burlington Police Department logs for March 13 to 14.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

March 13

  • At 2:45 a.m. a Hillside Avenue caller reported three suspicious males walked onto her porch and rang her doorbell and then starting throwing things at the house next door. Police detained two male parties while a third ran into the woods. They said they were throwing snowballs at houses, cars and each other. No damage reported or observed.
  • At 10:26 a.m. a Spring Mobile manager reported a past theft by an employee. Manager said that on Feb. 19 a former employee was discovered stealing merchandise. Total amount take was $220 worth of merchandise.
  • At 12:57 p.m. a caller from the Recreation Department reported that sometime since Feb. 8 a skate park ramp at Simonds Park was taken. Also two section of another ramp were taken. Total value is over $6,000.
  • At 3:58 p.m. a manager from Anthropologie reported that 16 T-Shirts were stolen between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.
  • At 4:50 p.m. Sears loss prevention reported detaining a female shoplifter who was being uncooperative. All merchandise recovered and store to summons for shoplifting.
  • At 7:42 p.m. a caller reported that her credit card was stolen from the CVS at 242 Cambridge St., and it was used three times. A white female was observed stealing credit card and used it for over $300 in three stores in town.
  • At 8:54 p.m. an employee at Brookstone reported a display iPad was stolen about 40 minutes prior. White male suspect. 

March 14

  • At 10:31 a.m. a man came to the station to report fraudulent charges on his credit card on March 12. The transactions were withdrawn somewhere in the United Kingdom. Total amount withdrawn was $195.30.
  • At 11:31 a.m. police issued a citation for texting while driving.
  • At 3:26 p.m. Macy's loss prevention stated they had four known shoplifters concealing merchandise. Suspects never obtained merchandise. Same identified and will be summonsed.
  • At 6:50 p.m. a Cambridge Street caller reported being harassed by a neighbor. Ongoing issue and no crime committed.
  • At 6:52 p.m. a Caroline Street caller reported his house was broken into through the back door. Caller reported $1,500 worth of jewelry and $40 was stolen. Break-in happened between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
  • At 11:07 p.m. a Burger King manager reported a male party threw a cup of liquid at an employee in the drive thru window.
