Police Logs: Grab and Run Theft With $600 in Items Stolen, Nitrogen Leak at Keurig Development
Burlington Police Department logs for Feb. 28 to March 1.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Feb. 28
- At 9:31 a.m. a Locust Street caller reported a beagle running around the area.
- At 11:55 a.m. a Mall Road caller reported his vehicle was struck sometime the night before while it was parked. Damage to rear passenger side and rear bumper.
- AT 12:52 p.m. a Beacon Village caller reported a hit and run accident to her vehicle while it was parked.
- At 1:43 p.m. a Cambridge Street caller reported wires down. NSTAR notified.
- At 2:57 p.m. the owner of Fancy Nail and Spa reported a suspicious male came to the shop acting as a police officer and showing a badge and asking questions about legal documents. Male was in his forties with spiked gray hair, about 5 foot and 9 inches with a stocky build. Police reports states his claim could have been legitimate.
- At 5:19 p.m. a Brookside Lane caller reported a past breaking and entering of her home that day.
- At 5:50 p.m. a caller from Best Buy reported a grab and run theft. Two suspects, a white male and a white female, both approximately 20-30 years old, stole approximately $600 in merchandise. Suspects grabbed merchandise and threw it into the back of a blue BMW and turned right onto Middlesex Turnpike in the direction of Lexington.
- At 7:01 p.m. a County Road caller reported his daughter has been receiving threatening emails from an ex-boyfriend.
- At 9:23 p.m. a caller reported a nitrogen leak at the Keurig building at 63 South Avenue. Burlington Fire handled the situation. Click here for the full story.
- At 11:32 p.m. a Tavern in the Square manager reported an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Caller stated the man was in the passenger side of a vehicle but had not left the area. Manager to seek trespass order.

- At 2:59 p.m. a caller at Cambridge Street and Wilmington Road reported youths in the intersection pushing each other into the street. Police spoke to group of 10 kids from an Arlington Catholic school who were waiting to be picked up.
- At 6:03 p.m. police arrested Shawn Byrne, 36, of 16 Charlesgate Road, Billerica, on two warrants from other agencies and a charge of an arrestee furnishing a false name/social security number.
- At 7:54 p.m. a caller at Barnes & Noble Booksellers reported a 3-4 year old child was left inside a vehicle alone. Four-year old child left alone for 5-10 minutes. Police state child checked okay and Department of Children & Families notified.
