Police Logs: Man Arrested for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Home Break-in With $10,000 Taken

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Feb. 21

  • At 4:52 a.m. Police observed a suspected party pull up to the closed Hess station at 110 Cambridge Street. Officer observed an SUV and suspect that matched previous thefts come up to the front of the business, take the newspapers, and leave. Newspapers recovered.
  • At 6:47 a.m. police issued a summons to a Wilmington man on charges of operating a motor vehicle with no inspection sticker, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
  • At 2:20 p.m. a Fox Hill Road caller reported youths in the woods with possible paintball guns. Several juveniles found with Airsoft rifles which were taken for parents to pick up at station.
  • At 2:58 p.m. police arrested Keven Silva Monteiro, 19, of 89 Bunker Hill St., Apartment 1058, Charlestown, on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct. Arrest made after a caller from b.good Burgers reported two males having an argument and that one may have a knife.
  • At 3:08 p.m. a Arboretum Way caller reported her boyfriend threw her to the ground.
  • At 5:01 p.m. a Winn Street caller reported her house was broken into. Police observed the back door had been kicked in. Theft happened sometime between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Approximately $10,000 stolen.
