Police Logs: Over $1,500 in Clothes Stolen, Man Arrested for Larceny After Using False Credit Card

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

March 2

  • At 9:58 a.m. a Van Norden Road caller someone tried to use her bank card at a Target store.
  • At 11:06 a.m. a caller from Anthropologie in the Burlington Mall reported the night before 17 pairs of shorts and 15 T-shirts were stolen. Total value of items stolen was $1,876.
  • At 11:17 p.m. a Gedick Road caller reported his bank notified him that someone used his card in New York the night before.
  • At 1:13 p.m. police arrested two men after Sears loss prevention reported a male with a fake identification opened a credit card account with the store and was purchasing two televisions. Police arrested Serdar Ozmen, 29, of 2250 E 4th St, Apartment 7R, Brooklyn, NY, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and violation to conceal number plate. Police also arrested John Wise, 53, of 2347 Brigham St., Brooklyn, NY, on charges of larceny over $250 (two counts) and false statement to obtain a credit card.
  • At 3:28 p.m. a caller from Spencer Gifts reported detaining two females that shoplifted items from the store and that they also have items from other stores.
  • At 7:19 p.m. police issued a summons to an Andover woman on a charge of shoplifting $100+ by concealing merchandise. Summons issued after Lord & Taylor reported detaining a shoplifter who was concealing $334 in merchandise.
  • At 8:44 p.m. a Julia Connors Drive caller reported someone threw bottles at his house. Four beer bottles thrown onto the property, no damage caused.
  • At 9:20 p.m. a Newbury Comics manager reported two 16-year-old males took items from the store and fled.
