Roche Bros. Manager Chases Theft Suspect, Possible Transformer Explosion, Woman's Pocketbook Stolen at Mall and More

The following is a sampling of log entries provided by the Burlington Police Department.

Monday, April 20

1:58 a.m. - State Police report erratic operation of a motor vehicle (a white truck). Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

2:01 p.m. - Employee from Roche Bros., 34 Cambridge St., reports manager in the parking lot chasing a suspect for a theft in the store. A white male, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing a grey sweatshirt, stole $192 in baby formula. Store manager recovered the formula. The suspect fled the area in an older model Buick with a Florida license plate and a damaged driver’s side.

5:01 p.m. - Multiple calls for wire down across the road in the area of 43 Wilmington Road and possible transformer explosion. Fire Department notified. Officers were unable to locate any wires down to the ground. RCN and Eversource were notified for a low wire and power outage.

7:11 p.m. - Mall Security reports a black heavy set male, wearing a gray shirt and sunglasses stole a party’s pocketbook. Victim reports setting her shoulder bag down on a bench in front of the Microsoft store in the main mall corridor to make a cell phone call. At some point the purse was stolen. Victim’s friend believes an older, heavy set, black male with a scruffy beard may have taken it, however neither girl actually observed the crime police say.

8:11 p.m. - Sears Loss Prevention reports a theft in progress. Officers were dispatcehd and loss prevention has a female party detained. Reyna F. Tejeda, 26, of Mattapan was arrested and charged with larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property over $250.

11:32 p.m. - Caller reports a vehicle is parked in front of his house on Algonquin Drive and believes the occupants went into a neighbors house. Caller reports the neighbors are out of town. Officers found the house to be secure with no signs of entry.

11:49 p.m. - Woburn Police reports they have two units off with two intoxicated parties in the vicinity of 17 Harriett Avenue at Lowell Street and are requesting assistance. Woburn Police placed the parties into protective custody.
