Vehicle Crashes into Yard and Telephone Pole, Dog Left in Car, Father and Son Shooting Cans in the Woods and More

Sunday, April 19

8:06 a.m. - Caller reports a vehicle struck items in the front yard of 231 Winn St., and nearly struck the home. Second caller states that same vehicle had also struck a pole. Murray’s notified. Fire Dept notified. Verizon notified of pole strike, and it was requested that they respond to assess damage, if any.

12:05 a.m. - Resident reports his CPA notified him the IRS rejected his 2014 tax return due to his/or his wife’s social security number(s) being used previously. No other details known at this time.

5:01 p.m. - Caller reports hearing pellet/BB gun being fired in the woods behind her house on Cranberry Lane. A father and son were located shooting cans with a pellet gun. Police sent them on their way.

8:34 p.m. - Caller reports a dog in a vehicle at Extended Stay America, 40 South Ave. Unknown how long the dog has been inside the vehicle and caller is concerned for the dogs well being. Police confirmed a young terrier breed inside the vehicle. Dog is not in any distress. Outside temperature of 50 degrees, no danger of a heat emergency.

8:44 p.m. - Officer reports suspicious vehicle under power lines at Rahanis Park. Individuals sent on their way.
