Harvard already said it would move courses online for the duration of the semester and asked students not to return from spring break.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Two people in "the Harvard community" are being tested for the new coronavirus, according to a message sent to students.

"I write to share that two members of the Harvard community are being tested for novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and are receiving appropriate care," Giang Nguyen, executive director of the university's Health Services.

Harvard announced Tuesday morning it would move all courses online for the duration of the spring semester. The university asked students not to return from spring break.

Several major colleges and universities in the area, including Boston University, Northeastern and UMass, have since followed suit.
