Apply To The Fuel Assistance Program In City Of Cambridge

The Fuel Assistance Program assists low-income households in Cambridge and Somerville with heating costs incurred between November 1st and April 30th. Renters and homeowners in both cities are eligible to apply if they meet federal income guidelines.

Due to COVID-19, all application appointments will be done by phone and applications will be submitted through no-contact options.
New applicants can call 617-349-6252 to set up an appointment with Fuel Assistance staff. English, Amharic, and Spanish-speaking intake workers are available to assist. Residents who previously received fuel assistance were mailed an application to reapply, and can call with any questions.

If you are in a no-heat situation or facing immediate utility shutoff, fuel assistance can be provided within 24 hours to eligible applicants.
