Jones was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He underwent surgery but ultimately succumbed to his injuries at approximately 4:20 a.m.

The victim had sustained five stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.

In the course of their investigation authorities learned through witness statements and video surveillance that on the morning of Sept. 12, 2015, the victim was outside of the 7-Eleven when he was approached by another male known to the victim.

The two males walked over to the defendant’s motor vehicle at which time the defendant began yelling at the victim to get away from the car.

When the victim was walking away from the defendant’s car, the defendant jumped out of the vehicle and stabbed the victim multiple times before returning to the car and fleeing the scene.

The victim walked into the 7-Eleven and collapsed.
