Cambridge Man Seriously Injured In Fall While Rock Climbing In NH

The 25-year-old man was climbing with friends in New Hampshire when a piece of bolted protection was released, causing him to fall 20 feet.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A Cambridge man was seriously injured in a fall from a cliff in Albany, New Hampshire Friday evening, New Hampshire Fish & Game said in a news release.

Jiwon Han, 25, was climbing an unnamed route to the right of the Mithras path with a group of friends near Sundown Ledge and the Boulder Loop Trail around 7:30 p.m. when a piece of bolted protection was released, causing him to fall 20 feet, officials said.

Both of his legs were seriously injured, according to officials.

Rescuers were able to stabilize Han at the scene before he was taken to the hospital for further treatment, officials said.
