Cambridge Police Investigate Reported Sexual Assault In Porter Square
Police are searching for a suspect after a 47-year-old Somerville woman told officers she was inappropriately touched in Porter Square.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Police are searching for a suspect after a woman from Somerville told officers she was sexually assaulted in Porter Square on Wednesday.
The 47-year-old woman told officers she was assaulted around 8:40 a.m. near the Exchange Shopping Center at 1815 Massachusetts Ave., near Roseland Street.
The woman told officers she felt someone approaching her quickly and tried to step out of the way, but someone "reached up her skirt and aggressively felt her buttocks."

Police said she tried to confront the person, but they ran away and she was unable to provide a description.
Cambridge Police released a video of a man seen running from the area around the same time as the incident. According to the police, "the clip captures the moment just as the assault occurred and shows the suspect running away from the survivor."

"In the meantime, Cambridge Police will continue to provide enhanced attention to the area," police said in a statement.
