Cambridge Police Issue Arrest Warrant for Sept. 5 Shooting
Cambridge Police met with community members in the Riverside and Cambridgeport neighborhoods this week.

CAMBRIDGE, MA - On Tuesday, Cambridge Police updated members of the Riverside and Cambridgeport community that they have identified and issued a warrant for a suspect involved in a Sept. 5 shooting.
According to Cambridge Police Dept. Public Information Officer Jeremy Warnick, to protect the investigation, police are not citing the name of the person. Warnick said the warrant was secured on September 14th.
Warnick said overall, Cambridge officers, Crime Scene Services staff and IT employees have dedicated nearly 3,000 combined hours of time since Sept 5 investigating these cases, providing increased visibility in the neighborhoods, and regularly engaging with residents in the area.

On Sept. 5, two people were injured in a shooting on Auburn Street near River Street just before 11 a.m.

Police said one person suffered a wound to the hand and another was injured in the knee. Both injuries were non-life-threatening and the victims were treated at area hospitals. A red vehicle was seen leaving the scene, as well as a male on a white bicycle, police said. The vehicle was seized by Cambridge police.
Police said the shootings are believed to be targeted incidents between parties known to one another and there was no threat to the public's safety. So far no arrests have been made.
Jarred Jones, a 20-year-old from Cambridge, was arrested in connection with the September 5th incident for warrants out of Somerville District Court (Assault with Dangerous Weapon).
On Sept. 10, two others were injured by gunshots at the Cambridge Carnival in Kendall Square.
This time, shots rang out around Main and Albany streets, at 4:44 p.m. According to police, the shooting followed a fight.
At the scene, CPD made an arrest of the suspect wanted for the Cambridge Carnival shooting. That individual, Michael Coleman, a 23-year-old from Dorchester, is facing multiple charges including Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building, 2 counts of Assault to Murder, Armed; Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License.
"After a thorough investigation, we also arrested one of the suspects wanted in relation to gun violence that occurred following the Carnival in the area of River Street and William Street," Warnick said.
Lamaree Wallace, a 20-year-old from Boston, is facing multiple charges including Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building and Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License.
Warnick said there was also a drug-related arrest made in connection with the September 10th River Street/William Street incident. Frantz Teneus, a 21-year-old from Boston, was arrested for Possession to Distribute a Class D Drug.
