Cambridge Public Schools: No Planned Closings Or Delays, But Bundle Up!

Make sure the kids have lots of layers on before catching the bus.

While some schools are delaying classes or canceling altogether, Cambridge Public Schools will open as usual Friday, despite bitterly cold temperatures on the radar.

Nearby Boston's public schools are following the same policy.

CPS tweeted out Thursday night:

Meanwhile, the city has shared Cambridge winter weather preparedness guidelines, including homeless service providers, faith-based partners and public services that coordinate efforts during extreme weather conditions.

Writes the city, "Winter storms and extreme temperatures pose a severe risk to the safety and health of people remaining outdoors. If you see someone on the street and are concerned about them, please contact the FirstStep Street Outreach team at 617-864-0795, or call 911 if it is a medical emergency."
