Cambridge Snow Emergency Parking Ban To Be Lifted Friday Morning
Here's what to know.

CAMBRIDGE, MA—The Snow Emergency Parking Ban will be lifted in Cambridge at 8 a.m. Friday, which means anyone who parked in one of the City’s Snow Emergency Off-Street Parking locations should move their cars by 10 a.m. to avoid being ticketed.
Curbside trash, recycling, and yard waste collection routes are one day behind: Thursday’s route will be collected on Friday, and Friday’s route on Saturday. If your pickup is missed, leave it out and crews will return to pick it up. Street cleaning is canceled for Friday.
The Department of Public Works will continue to clear and salt streets, including bicycle lanes, into the night, starting with major arteries.

After major street clearing operations have been completed, crews will begin working on high traffic bus routes to clear snow from bus stops, ramps and crosswalks, according to the city.
Sidewalk shoveling: Property owners are required to shovel snow from sidewalks next to their property or business within 12 hours of daytime snowfall and before 1 p.m. when it has fallen overnight.

Property owners must also remove or melt all ice within 6 hours of the time it forms or face a fine of $50.
Property owners are asked to please shovel a minimum of 36 inches clear width, so that people who use wheelchairs and parents using strollers can navigate the sidewalk.
The Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities requests that a 48 inch width be created when possible for an extra measure of safety.
Power outages can be directly reported to Eversource at 800-592-2000 and downed wires in Cambridge can be reported to 911.
