Drunk Man Sent To Hospital After Getting Stuck In MBTA Escalator

A man was trying to light a cigarette in Harvard Square when he fell and got tangled in the escalator, a spokesperson from the MBTA said.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A man was rushed to the hospital Thursday night after police say he got a piece of clothing stuck in an escalator at the Harvard Square MBTA Station.

The man was intoxicated and trying to light a cigarette while riding the escalator when he fell, getting tangled in the moving escalator, a spokesperson for the MBTA said.

The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but his condition has not yet been released.
