Explosion At Harvard Medical School Likely Intentional, Authorities Say: Reports

The explosion occurred shortly before 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, authorities said.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Authorities are investigating an overnight explosion at a Harvard Medical School building, according to multiple reports.

The explosion occurred shortly before 2:50 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building at 220 Longwood Ave., WCVB reported. When police responded, they spotted two people fleeing the scene and tried to stop them, but were unsuccessful.

The Boston Fire Department Arson Unit responded to the scene and determined the explosion to be intentional, the Harvard Crimson reported.

Boston police conducted a sweep of the building and did not find any additional explosive devices, reports said.

No injuries were reported.
