Free Night At The Harvard Museums Of Science And Culture

Guests will be able to enjoy handcrafted mocktails by CraftHouse Bartending and desserts in the galleries Thursday evening.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — The Harvard Museums of Science and Culture are hosting a free night at the Harvard Museum of Natural History and Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology Thursday evening, the museums announced in a news release.

Between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., guests will be able to enjoy handcrafted mocktails by CraftHouse Bartending and desserts in the galleries, the museums said. There will also be a photo booth and museum-themed crafts.

"Food and drinks are complimentary, but supplies are limited so come early and stay late!" the museums said.

ArtsThursdays is a university-wide initiative supported by Harvard University Committee on the Arts as part of the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture's 10-Year Anniversary Celebration.

The Harvard Museum of Natural History boasts new exhibits Swimming with Sharks and In Search of Thoreau’s Flowers, as well as the world-famous Blaschka Glass Flowers. Visitors can find their birthstone in the newly renovated mineral gallery, stand before giant tigers, and view dinosaur fossils in the paleontology gallery.

Visitors can also check out the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology to explore towering Maya sculptures in the Latin American galleries and discover the early days of American anthropology as shown in the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. See nineteenth-century Plains Indian warrior art in an exhibit co-curated by Hunkpapa Lakota artist and tribal educator Butch Thunder Hawk.
