Cambridge Election 2017 Results: Delay Due To Data Crash

Election officials were recounting well into Wednesday morning.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Faulty data discs had local election officials recounting hundreds of votes through the early-morning hours, City Clerk Donna Lopez said late Tuesday night. For the first time in 15 years, the data discs crashed, she said.

Lopez said 448 ballots in Ward 7-2, 873 ballots in 8-1 and 1,139 ballots in 11-1 will all need to be rescanned.

"We have all cast ballots and we'll need to prepare new memory cards," she said.
