Ice Cream Chain Is Harvard Square's Newest Offering
Van Leeuwen has opened its third location in the Boston area.
CAMBRIDGE, MA — Van Leeuwen Ice Cream has opened its latest location in Harvard Square on 1 Brattle Sq.
The company now has three locations in the Boston area, with spots in Chestnut Hill and the Seaport as well.
“We’re so happy to bring Van Leeuwen to Harvard Square, just in time for the cozy fall season. We look forward to becoming a part of this iconic neighborhood and bringing our guests good ice cream made with good ingredients that makes you feel good.” Co-Founder and Owner Ben Van Leeuwen said.

The store will officially celebrate its launch on Thursday, Dec. 5 by serving $1 scoops of ice cream from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. In addition, the first 100 customers who arrive during that window will receive complementary tote bags.
Van Leuuwen was founded in 2008 in New York City by Van Leeuwen, his brother Peter, and Laura O’Neill. The trio has since taken what started as a single ice cream truck and expanded it to a chain of 60 stores throughout 9 states.
