Man Who Police Say Dismembered Roommate Caught In MA After 6 Years
The killing took place in northern Indiana in 2017. State, federal and local police arrested him this week on a murder charge.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A man who police say disemboweled his roommate in 2017 was captured this week in a Cambridge apartment.
State police, U.S. Marshals and Cambridge police arrested John Hallett, 54 at his Chester Street apartment building Thursday. He's awaiting extradition back to Indiana where he'll likely face a murder charge.
State police say Hallett beat and choked his roommate to death in Michigan City, Ind., a beach community along the shore of Lake Michigan.

"Hallett allegedly then disemboweled his roommate’s body and disposed of remains in various public trash cans," state police said.
A specially trained cadaver dog later sniffed out more human remains in the basement of the home Hallett and his roommate shared, state police said. Hallett then became the prime suspect in the murder.
