Longtime Inman Square Jazz Club To Close

The 40-year-old mainstay will shut its doors this summer.

CAMBRIDGE, MA – A longtime Cambridge jazz club will close its doors this summer, according to Wicked Local. Ryles Jazz Club, an Inman Square mainstay for over 40 years, will shut its doors as the owner focuses on his other Cambridge restaurant.

Gary Mitchell, who also owns S&S Restaurant with his family, told Wicked Local it has been challenging to keep up with the hours he and his sister must devote to run the club. The family will continue to run S&S, which has a 50-year-lease.

The club has not yet been sold, but Mitchell is looking for a buyer that will fit the neighborhood's culture. Acts who have performed over the years are invited back for its last show, called The Final Jam, on June 30.
