Man Who Reportedly Jumped Into Charles River Dead: Police
At 6:53 a.m. today troopers responded to the Charles River after a dog walker and a rower reported seeing a man jump into the water.

The man who reportedly jumped into the Charles River this morning has died, according to State Police.
At 6:53 a.m. today troopers responded to the Charles River after a dog walker and a rower reported seeing a man jump into the water from the Weeks Footbridge. The State Police dive team and Marine Unit, as well as Cambridge Fire Department divers, also responded, police said.
Just after 8 a.m. divers pulled the man from the river. He was transported by ambulance to Mount Auburn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim is an adult male from Allston, police said. His name and age are not being released at this time, police said.

State Police detectives assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office are conducting a follow-up investigation, police said.
