Manhole Explosion In Cambridge Causes Harvard Square Shutdown

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Harvard Square is shut down to pedestrians and vehicles due to a manhole fire Wednesday morning, Cambridge police said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Fire officials responded to the scene at 27 Brattle Street around 8:30 a.m. to battle the fire as police officers helped ensure traffic and pedestrian safety, police said.
