New Tap Room, Coffee Shop Celebrate Grand Opening This Week

Lamplighter Brewing Co. and Longellows Cambridge had a soft opening this weekend, and promise grand opening events starting Tuesday.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Two Broadway Street newcomers quietly opened their doors this weekend and plan to host a series of grand opening celebration events starting Tuesday, bringing brews both alcoholic and caffeinated to the neighborhood.

The long-promised Lamplighter Brewing Co. posted on Facebook Monday to say, "Beer and coffee are flowing in the taproom, and we could not be more excited to open our doors to the world!"

According to its Facebook page, Lamplighter will hold a "grand opening week" of events starting Tuesday. Its hours are 11 a.m. to midnight to start, starting with the ongoing soft opening first reported by Eater Boston.

Embedded within the brewery is coffee shop Longfellows Cambridge, which bills itself as follows:

Our goal is to serve delicious coffee to our awesome neighbors and amplify the booming community space that will be 284 Broadway. We'll serve up drip coffee, a full range of espresso drinks, cold brew, homemade sodas, and teas Monday through Saturday. We'll also offer daily assorted pastries, yogurt parfaits, and Belgian liége-style waffles. We want to be your go-to for weekly staples, and also help you try something NEW – like orange cardamom or double chocolate cold brew.

Although, as Lamplighter concedes on its blog, construction has pushed the opening date far back, both the brewery and coffee shop have already been offering limited selections of its offerings in growlers.
