NYC Couple Scour Cambridge, Boston For Beloved Lost Dog
Luna escaped from a Cambridge home in September, and her owners are offering a reward to anyone who can help find her.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A New York City couple whose dog escaped during a visit to Cambridge last month are desperate to find the small canine — who was a birthday gift acquired at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Owner Rodrigo Romero said he and girlfriend Tania Gonzalez were staying over in Cambridge on Sept. 23 to attend a friend's PhD thesis defense. While Luna was in the care of a friend, the dog escaped out an open door.
"She probably ran out to look for us," Romero said.

Ever since the escape, Romero and Gonzalez have been traveling to Massachusetts to post fliers and search shelters for Luna. The couple has posted pictures of the dog widely across the Boston area, and are offering a reward for her safe return.
The couple even hired a scent dog to track Luna. The trail led them to Storrow Drive, where the scent dog hit a dead end.

"I brought Luna home 2 years ago, a birthday gift for my girlfriend as we were struggling through the pandemic in NYC," Romero said in an email. "She was 8 week old and a bundle of joy (and chaos). A year later, we brought home her sister, Nova to keep each other company while we worked. Our fur family means everything to us. For the last two years we have woken up to Luna’s nuzzles. She is such a loving dog, and she is my emotional support dog."
