Power Outages Reported On Harvard, MIT Campuses
Police say a blown transformer on Memorial Drive caused the outages.

Power outages are being reported in Cambridge at both Harvard University and MIT via social media Monday afternoon.
Harvard's information technology arm reports a "service-impacting incident" via Twitter, writing, "There is currently a power outage in parts of the Rubenstein building. HKS IT is monitoring."
Separately, social media posts indicate parts of MIT's campus may be without power as well.

Cambridge Fire reports that a transformer blew in the 800 block of Memorial Drive, sparking a fire that was quickly contained. Eversource is en route, Cambridge Fire said. On Twitter, Cambridge Police said the outages were related to the blown transformer.
Eversource is reporting a handful of outages in town, as of about 4 p.m. And Harvard IT said shortly therafter that power was restored.
