Sweet Bakery Cupcakes Pop Up At Cambridge Ice Cream Spot
New City Microcreamery is collaborating with Sweet Bakery on Mass Ave with a pop up.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — What's better than ice cream? The folks at the Hudson-based "microcreamery" says it's their ice cream with the option of having Sweet Bakery cupcakes on the side.
New City Microcreamery and Sweet Bakery are joining forces for a popup that will feature cupcakes and confections available on weekends at the 403 Massachusetts Ave location, while the Sweet Bakery's Harvard location is under renovation. Sweet Bakery wanted to be able to offer their fans a spot to pick-up their famous cupcakes in the neighborhood.
"The collaboration is a result of neighbors working together," according to a release.

Look for cupcakes Friday, Saturday and Sundays starting this weekend until they run out.
For those of you just catching up on the microcreamery, the main feature is ice cream made via a technique involving liquid nitrogen and ingredients that push what most people might think of when they think of ice cream: everything from red wine to fresh fennel. Yep. In the ice cream.

And if that wasn't enough of a new take on your average ice cream specialty shop, (yes, Tuscanini's is known for some pretty jaw droppingly bold flavors - curry I'm looking at you) the New City Microcreamery opened last fall in Central Square and even has a secret door in the back that leads to a speak-easy they're calling "<>" also known as "Less Than Greater Than" where you can find cocktails.
What's going on here?
Thank the trio Michael Kasseris, Karim El Gamal and Jason Kleinerman who opened the first New City Microcreamery in 2015 in Hudson across the street from their restaurant, The Rail Trail Flatbread Co., with the idea of combining New England farm-fresh dairy the modern liquid nitrogen process in an open kitchen.
The speakeasy cocktail bar specializes in decadent food, craft cocktails and a creamy, almost frozen whipped ice cream cocktails they call “Spirits and Cream,” made-to-order using liquid nitrogen.
