CAMBRIDGE, MA — President Donald Trump said he and his administration will be removing Harvard’s tax-exempt status in the latest development in an ideological battle between the President and the University, according to a report from CNN.

In a Truth Social post Friday morning, Trump said Harvard deserves to have its status revoked and that he now plans to do so.

In April, Trump withheld $2.2 billion in multi-year federal grants and contracts from Harvard after the school refused to comply with his administration’s list of demands. According to the federal government, the University stands to lose approximately $9 billion in federal funding overall. Recently, Harvard borrowed $750 million from Goldman Sachs in taxable bonds.
