Your Weekend Soundtrack: Cambridge Porchfest is About to Drop! (July 19-20)

Cambridge Porchfest: Two days of free, walkable live music, community vibes, and new discoveries across Cambridgeport & Central Square.

Get ready to ditch the earbuds and dive into a live music experience unlike any other. This weekend, Cambridge’s Inaugural Porchfest is hitting the streets of Cambridgeport and Central Square, turning neighborhoods into a massive, free, and totally walkable music festival. If you're in your 20s or 30s and constantly on the hunt for your next favorite band, a chill vibe, and a genuine community connection, you're going to want to mark your calendar for July 19th and 20th.

Forget the pricey tickets and crowded venues for a moment. Porchfest is all about that grassroots energy. It's a "DIY" celebration where local musicians take over porches, patios, and stoops, bringing their sound directly to you. It's the perfect opportunity to stumble upon a new artist, hang with friends, and soak in the summer atmosphere.

Where the Magic Happens: Two Days, Two Vibes

Saturday, July 19th: Cambridgeport Takes the Stage
Kicking off at 12 PM, Cambridgeport's tree-lined streets and green spaces will transform into a sprawling soundscape. Over twenty addresses in this vibrant neighborhood are throwing open their doors (or at least their porches!) to host live performances. Imagine strolling through a beautiful area, with different genres drifting from every block – it's the ultimate urban treasure hunt for your ears.

Sunday, July 20th: Central Square Heats Up
The party moves to the heart of Cambridge on Sunday, from 12 PM to 6 PM, as Central Square comes alive with music. Known as the city's cultural district, Central Square's sidewalks, patios, and even its iconic venues will be buzzing.

"Central Square is the cultural district of the City of Cambridge, and our bars, restaurants, and venues pour sound onto the streets of Mass Ave seven days a week," says Michael Monestime, President of the Central Square Business Improvement District. "Porchfest is a natural extension of what makes this place so alive. We’re proud to bring this energy outdoors and into the community in such a free, powerful, celebratory way."
