2013 Boston Marathon Profiles: Inspired by Mom
Charlestown Patch shares the stats, stories and training tips of local runners.

The 117th Boston Marathon is coming up on Monday, April 15. As the city prepares to welcome about 20,000 runners and even more spectators, Charlestown Patch will be sharing the stories of some local marathon participants.
- Name: Will DiTullio
- Age: 32
- Reason for running: In 2009, my mother passed away unexpectedly due to complications caused by her Type I diabetes. She was only 55 years old. It had always been a goal of mine to run the Boston Marathon, and this life-changing event pushed me toward my goal.
- Marathon experience: Last year’s Boston Marathon was the first marathon I have run.
- Training tip: Never say you can’t. If it’s a dream of yours to run Boston lace up your sneakers and hit the roads. Anything is possible with hard work and determination.
