5 Things: Senate Debate, Harvest on Vine Fundraiser
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on March 27 in Charlestown.

1. Senate debate: U.S. Reps. Edward Markey and Stephen Lynch, Democratic candidates in the April 30 primary race for John Kerry’s U.S. Senate seat, are scheduled to debate for the first time tonight at the WCVB-TV studios in Needham. The debate will air on WCVB Channel 5 at 7 p.m.
2. Toddler Time: Bring your toddler by the Charlestown Branch of the Boston Public Library on Wednesdays in March from 10:30-11 a.m. for stories, puppets, rhymes and more. This program is free and geared toward children under 3.
3. Job search help: Neighbors helping Neighbors USA meets every Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Boston Public Library’s Central Branch (700 Boylston St.). The free, peer-led group helps individuals in their job search.

4. Harvest on Vine fundraiser: Tickets are available for the Harvest on Vine fundraiser coming up on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus (545 Medford St.). The event will feature Karson Tager of Karson and Kennedy on Mix 104.1, with comedy by Tony V., DJ Jackie Kelly, catered food, raffle prizes and auction items. Tickets cost $30 each and are available at the St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena Parish Center and Social Ministry Office.
5. School Girls memberships: The Old Charlestown School Girls' Association is always welcoming new members. The group is open to anyone who lived in and attended schools in Charlestown before Jan. 1, 1970. To join, send the $10 membership fee to P.O. Box 290276, Charlestown, MA 02129. Checks should be made payable to “Old Charlestown School Girls.”
