Bella Bond to Undergo Second Autopsy Before Funeral

A cause of death has yet to be determined in Bella's murder. Suffocation and asphyxiation is being looked at as a possible cause.

Bella Bond, the three-year-old who was once known to the world as “Baby Doe,” will undergo a second autopsy before she is finally laid to rest, relatives told WBZ News.

The girl’s remains were found discarded in a trash bag on a Boston beach back in June. Her mother, Rachelle Bond, was charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Rachelle’s boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, was charged with Bella’s murder.

David DiFilippo, of Woodlawn Memorials, has donated a special headstone, which reads “Our Special Angel.” Bella’s proper burial will have to wait though, as the case against Bella’s mother and McCarthy is “changing,” according to WBZ’s report.

A cause of death has yet to be determined in Bella’s murder, but Bond told investigators that McCarthy admitted to the crime, allegedly saying “She was a demon anyway. It was her time to die.

It’s not known when the second autopsy will take place. Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley told the Boston Herald earlier this week that suffocation and asphyxiation is being looked at as a possible cause of death.
