A Boston firefighter searching for his helmet which went missing over a year ago is now asking the public to help him find it.
Brian Carey, a 31-year veteran of the Boston Fire Department, says the helmet was stolen off the Engine 14 firetruck. He’s now frantically searching to find it.

According to Carey, a big online market exists for the sale of fire helmets. Collectors have been known to pay hundreds of dollars.
Carey is hopeful the helmet will turn up one day, despite months of unsuccessful searching. The helmet’s historical and personal value is irreplaceable, according to Carey.
