Charlestown Girl Scout Raises some Cookie Dough for their Troop
Local scouts sold more than 500 boxes each.
Charlestown Girl Scouts Kate Churchill, Madison Matarazzo and Carleigh Schievink of Troop 71320 each sold more than 500 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year. The proceeds from the cookie sale will help fund the many events and trips scheduled throughout the year, as well as the Troop’s 3rd Annual Summer Luau.
The Girl Scout Cookie program allows girls to set goals, learn money management, and develop marketing skills. The activity of selling cookies is directly related to our purpose of helping all our Girl Scouts realize their full potential and become strong, confident and resourceful citizens.
The Troops success this year was due in part to the show of local community members supporting the Girl Scouts as well as the many businesses that allowed the use of their store fronts during the Cookie season. Troop 71320 would like to extend a big thank you to Johnnie's Foodmaster, Zume's Coffee Shop and The Cooperative Bank of Charlestown for their help and support.
