Free Meter Parking Available in Boston For Holidays Using App
Two hours of free metered parking is available through January 2nd using the ParkBoston App

The Boston Transportation Department is reminding Boston residents and those visiting Boston to celebrate the holidays that the city’s holiday parking incentive is ongoing and will be happening through the end of the day on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016.
Drivers will have two hours of free parking at any of the Boston’s 8,000 metered parking spaces by if they use the ParkBoston app.
Below are the steps you can take through the ParkBoston app to take advantage of the free parking offer.

1. Follow the usual transaction instructions on the app until the “Active Session” screen is reached.
2. Click on “Session Options” at the bottom of the screen.

3. The menu will slide up, click on the “Discount” button displayed at the bottom.
4. Enter the code “617617” and click the “Discount Me” button for the discount to be applied.
Each ParkBoston account will be allowed the use of this special “617617” code once during this holiday season.
Drivers must first create a ParkBoston account before starting a transaction. The app is free and available through the App Store or Google Play for IPhone and Android users. A pay-by-voice option is offered for those without web-enabled phones.
