ICYMI: Police Arrest Man in Charlestown on Various Charges

The charges include numerous firearms violations and motor vehicle violations.

A Medford man was arrested on various charges in Charlestown on Saturday, Massachusetts State Police reported.

A police officer was monitoring traffic on Alford Street in Charlestown and an improperly inspected Nissan Sentra was noticed around 4:15 p.m.

According to police, the officer stopped the vehicle and discovered that the operator, who initially provided the trooper with a false name, did not have a valid license. He was placed under arrest and a fully-loaded .32 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver was recovered from inside his vehicle.

Police later verified that the serial number of the firearm had been removed and that there were numerous outstanding warrants for the driver. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in the Charlestown Division of the Boston Municipal Court.

The man is charged on numerous firearms violations, providing a false name to a police officer, numerous motor vehicle violations and multiple warrants.
