Pair with Local Roots Launch Catering Company

 John Moore, owner of The Navy Yard Bistro, has joined forces with Allison J. DeLorenzo of The Plated Gourmet as a new partner in her catering company, The Plated Gourmet.

DeLorenzo began the business in June of 2005 and in January of 2010 when expanding her company into a new shop location, she knew Moore would be thrilled to be a part of it. Often customers of The Navy Yard Bistro need catering and until now Moore wasn’t able to accommodate all requests.

The co-owners are a great mix of personality and skill, each having a career in marketing and sales before making career changes into the food industry. Buying out another catering company, Gimme The Skinny, the pair were able to take over their location at 35 Washington St. in Norwell, a quaint two-story Old Cape House.

The Plated Gourmet is a full service catering company specializing in private and corporate events, more specifically Weddings and Commerical Film Catering. The Plated Gourmet is extended a 20 percent discount to all couples that book weddings or related events with them for the upcoming season or receptions planned for later years.

DeLorenzo has called Charlestown her home for more than eight years. She approaches cooking like she does most every task in her life, with verve and passion. Adapting her craft over the past six years, she finds herself using more French influences. The Plated Gourmet still specializes in a Mediterranean way of cooking. Using a “clean” way of cooking, they focus on simple yet delicious ingredients to create innovative contemporary cuisine with a mix of old world classics.
