Partners HealthCare Offering $6K in Scholarships

The funds are available to two high school seniors living in Charlestown.

A consortium of neighborhood affiliates in Partners HealthCare will award two scholarships of $3,000 each to high school seniors from Charlestown who will be pursuing a program of study that will lead to a health career at the associate or bachelor degree level.

Eligible students for the Charlestown Health Care Merit Scholarship must have lived in Charlestown for at least two years, be a first-year, first-degree student who will attend college in fall 2013 and have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.75 or higher. 

Applicants must demonstrate they are pursuing a career in nursing, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy or other health sciences professions.

Applications also must include an essay that demonstrates the applicant’s leadership qualities through community service work. 

Deadline is May 1. All applicants will be notified of the final decision of the selection committee by email no later than June 1.
