EVERETT, MA — Police are investigating a phone threat that was made against Everett High School Wednesday, Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria said.

A phoned-in threat prompted a lockdown for students Wednesday afternoon around 2:40 p.m., sending Everett police to the campus, the school said.

Dismissal for students was delayed as police worked to examine the school and determine if the threat was real or not, DeMaria said in a Facebook post.
