UPDATE: Charlestown Rollover Cleared; Traffic Back to Normal

UPDATE: The rollover crash in Charlestown has been cleared, and traffic was back to normal by mid-morning.

CHARLESTOWN, MA - An early morning serious truck rollover accident on Rutherford Avenue has impacted the morning commute in the greater Boston area.

A box truck rolled over around 7 Thursday morning in the area of Rutherford Avenue inbound at Bunker Hill.

Only one lane has been open to traffic since the crash, and backups quickly developed all the way to Route 16 in Everett, and to up north to the Somerville. Route 93 north, Exit Route 28, was closed just before 8 Thursday morning, according to state police.

The accident happened just before 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

Heavy duty wreckers were working to remove the box truck after 8. Only traffic on the right shoulder was getting by.

There is no word yet on any injuries.
