Support for ROC Teen Program Pours In
A story Patch published this week on the ROC Teen Program has generated quite a conversation in the comment section.

Today is Friday (!), March 25. Here are five things you need to know today.
1. Whew! Yesterday was a busy one for the comments section on Patch. Let me direct you to a story about the and – if I may say – the heroic work Steve “Virgil” Virgilio does with that group of local teens. There are dozens of comments on the story affirming that, and most of them are from teens who have participated in ROC, or the parents of those teens. I don’t think the organization or Virgil could ask for a stronger endorsement. .
2. Speaking of comments: Not too long ago, there was a about the need to screen Monument Ave – the straight-to-DVD movie about Charlestown starring Dennis Leary and Martin Sheen. (You can thank columnist .) If someone wants to organize this screening, Dave Evans tells me there’s a great room at the Bunker Hill Museum for such an event. Anyone wanna take the reins and make this a fundraiser? Maybe for ROC?

3. There was a meeting on Wednesday night at the Constitution Inn about . It was a full house – at least 40 folks turned out – and I was there, too. There were lots of comments about the process the BRA will follow to bring development to the pier, and ideas from the community about what should go there. One popular proposal was for an “innovation center.” If you’re interested in hearing more about that, and what’s up next for Pier 5, take a look at .
4. If you’re a parent interested in cultivating a second language in your child while he or she is still young, you may want to check out a this Saturday at the Charlestown Nursery School. An organization called Mandarincube is leading the class, which starts at 9:30 a.m. More details? .

5. Supposedly it will be sunnier today, with a high near 40. Clear tonight with a low around 20. Worst March ever?
