Two People Rescued During Revere High-Rise Fire
Two Massachusetts State Troopers were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, but no one was seriously injured.

REVERE, MA — Fire crews worked tirelessly to rescue two people from a three-alarm fire at a high-rise apartment building in Revere Tuesday afternoon.
Revere's Fire Chief Christopher Bright said the fire started on the 11th-floor deck outside unit 1107 at 370 Ocean Avenue.
"That whole deck was on fire, contained mostly to the outside of the building," Bright said. "People were trapped across the hall, right in that window to the left, that balcony, I should say."

Once firefighters got to the scene, they initiated the building's sprinkler system and freed residents who were trapped in a nearby unit.
Massachusetts State Police said four troopers were there to help evacuate residents from the building, clearing multiple floors, State Police said on Twitter.

Troopers thought they had finished the job when they learned an elderly man on oxygen was still inside the building so they went back inside for him and were able to bring him out safely.
Two of the troopers were taken to Whidden Hospital for smoke inhalation, Massachusetts State Police said.
The fire was mostly contained to the outside of the building, but the high-rise sustained massive water damage from the sprinkler system and fire crews.
"A lot of things went our way. Very fortunate. The time of day, the direction the wind was blowing," Bright said.
One resident was seen taken to the hospital by ambulance, but no severe injuries were reported.
At least seven floors in the high-rise were damaged from water or smoke, Bright said after the fire was extinguished by 2:20 p.m.
The Red Cross of Massachusetts is working to help assist any residents who cannot immediately return to their homes.
Bright said it wasn't immediately clear how many apartments were damaged and the exact number of people displaced by the fire wasn't immediately available.
Investigators are working to determine the exact cause of the fire.
