Chelmsford to Host Annual Fourth of July Parade
The annual parade kicks off July 4 at 10 a.m.
Chelmsford’s annual Fourth of July parade is set to kick off on Saturday, July 4 at 10 a.m. The two-mile parade starts at the McCarthy Junior High School and ends at Summer Street.
This year’s parade marshal is Matt Scott from Chelmsford Telemedia, and singer Brian Henderson will perform at the start of the parade.

Committee members who have been working hard all year long for the event are: Tom Boucher, Amanda Camerano, Paul Cohen, Hank Hamelin, Jeff Hardy, Paul Hardy, Chuck Marcella, Lynn Marcella, Rich McLaughlin, Brian Reidy, Karen Reidy, Rick Romano, Donna Sargent, Dan Silvia, and Arline Wood
Some of the bands and entertainment in the parade and throughout the route this year include: Acton Minutemen, Lexington Minutemen, Chelmsford Minutemen, Chelmsford Community Band, Italian American Band, Sons of Italy, Spartans Drum & Bugle, Hot Tamale Brass Band (plays at all Red Sox Home Games on Lansdown Street!), Stuart Highlanders, Prime Time Brass Band, Worcester Kelties, Spirit of America, Clan MacPherson Pipes and Drums, Rick Laramore – aka: Rod Stewart. We will also have children’s characters roaming throughout the parade, the Roaming Railroad, the Lowell Spinners train, Wally the Green Monster from the Boston Red Sox, Pat Patriot from the New England Patriots, a Sherman Tank and Half Track from the Collings Foundation.

Did you get your raffle ticket? Tickets have been sent to every home in Chelmsford. If you have not received them you can get them at Northern Bank on Littleton Road. This year parade organizers have a cash raffle with prizes of: First - $1,655.00; Second - $500.00; and Third – Five (5) cash prizes of $100.00. Tickets are $1.00 each or a book of 10 for $10.00. Additionally, the Sports Extravaganza raffle will award the winner two tickets for each of the following: Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, New England Revolution also, four tickets for the Lowell Spinners and four tickets for the River Hawks!
Float Prizes: Prize money will be given to the four top floats, each will receive $300. The prizes are called: Red, White, Blue and Committee’s Choice. The judges this year will be from the Littleton 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee.
