Demars' conviction from her Jan. 30 bank robbery of TD Bank in Billerica was a lesser charge than the original charge of unarmed robbery.

According to prosecutor Kristyn Dusel, Demers walked into the bank at 2:55 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money with no dye pack.

Employees of the bank and witnesses gave a discription of the robber, who was found in the parking lot of a nearby church with cash protruding from her pants.

Defense attorney Karen Goldenberg said that Demars' actions were influenced by drugs, as well as distress over her father's impending death.

Conditions of Demers' probation include remaining drug-free, submitting to random screenings and substance-abuse counseling.
