Groton Man Charged In Wife's Death

Authorities said Gregory Fairbairn called police to the couple's home, where police found Mary Fairbairn dead with stab wounds.

GROTON, MA — A man has been charged in his wife's death after she was found with stab wounds at their Groton home.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Groton Police Chief Michael Luth said Greogory Fairbairn, 62, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, with additional charges expected. Police said they found his wife, Mary Fairbairn, 57, dead at their Lowell Street home around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Gregory Fairbairn called police to the home.

Gregory Fairbairn is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Ayer District Court.
