Heroin, Cocaine Bust On Interstate 495: Police

Police said two Maine men were found with about 50 grams of heroin and 100 grams of cocaine at a rest stop on Interstate 495.

HAVERHILL, MA — Two Maine men were arrested Sunday on Interstate 495 in Haverhill after police said they were found with large amounts of heroin and cocaine. Joshua Blodgett, 26, of Skowhegan, and Shane Lunt, 25, of Benton, were charged with trafficking heroin and cocaine. Lunt was also charged with providing a false name/social security number to police.

Massachusetts State Police said troopers on patrol encountered Blodgett and Lunt in a Chevrolet Malibu at a rest stop on the northbound side of the highway at about 3 a.m. The troopers approached the pair because their vehicle was "was parked parallel with the curb, despite the designated parking spaces being positioned horizontally within the Rest Area," police said in a statement.

A subsequent search turned up 101.1 grams of cocaine and 51.4 grams of heroin, police said.
