Shawsheen Tech Target Of Snapchat Threat

BILLERICA, MA — A Snapchat threat was directed at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in Billerica Sunday, according to the school's principal. The threat did not affect Monday classes, which were held as usual. Extra Billerica police officers were posted at the school as a precaution, according to school Principal Jessica Cook.

"They have identified the source of the posting, and we believe that if any threat existed, it has been contained," Cook wrote in a statement to parents and guardians.

Shawsheen Tech has about 1,300 students and serves the towns of Billerica, Bedford, Burlington, Tewksbury and Wilmington.
