When it comes to the Annual Average Daily Traffic Count (AADT), or the daily average of vehicles over a 24-hour period in a specific spot over a particular year, the busiest intersections are on highways.

In 2011, I-495 just south of Route 4 had over 108,000 AADT, followed by just over 87,000 in 2011 the Route 3 at the Lowell border (just past the Chelmsford Street exit) and just over 25,000 on the Lowell Connector just south of 495.

Keep in mind, this isn't every single intersection in town, only the ones NMCOG studied.
