It's mid-August already, which means a new school year is right around the corner.
It probably doesn’t seem possible, but Chelmsford students will be headed back to school in just a few short weeks.
Here are the start dates for local schools:

Here are a few additional dates to keep in mind for the fall semester:
- Aug. 25-26 New staff orientation
- Sept. 1 Staff/Faculty work day
- Sept. 2 Students’ first day
- Sept. 7 No School (Labor Day)
- Oct. 9 Half day for students
- Oct. 12 No school (Columbus Day)
- Oct. 13 Early release (12:30 p.m., K-12) Prof. Development Day
- Nov. 2 No school (professional development day)
- Nov. 11 No school (Veterans Day)
- Nov. 25 Early Dismissal
- Nov. 26 & 27 Thanksgiving Recess - no school
- Dec. 2 Half day (elementary only)
- Dec. 11 Half day (professional development)
- December 23 Full day for students
- Dec. 24-Jan. 3 December recess
