Patch: How long have you been doing business in town, or how long has your organization been around in the community?

Lundin: Chapters Recovery Center is brand new and officially opened on Nov. 24, 2021
I have been working here at Chapters since January 2022.

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?

Lundin: I have been working in this line of work for 16 years. Working in addiction treatment
provides life-saving support to those trying to overcome a debilitating disease. I woke up
one day at 25 years old and had nothing to show for my life. It took me years to
figure out my purpose in life and find what I was truly passionate about. After years
of active addiction and wreaking havoc on those around me and myself, I was lost
and broken.

When I finally made the decision to change my life, I started to really admire the
people who helped shape me into the woman I am today. I noticed something in
those people that I began to strive for, and I started to discover my purpose and my
passion — to help others in the same position I was once in myself. At one time I
thought that a life away from drugs and alcohol was simply impossible for someone
like me. Now, I truly believe that if I could do it, anybody can. Today, I am a person in
long-term recovery coming up on 18 years in May.

Patch: If you had to sum up your business mission to a stranger in five words, what would those words be?

Lundin: Personalized, Supportive, Inspire, Healing, Transformative

Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?

Lundin: Unfortunately, this work comes with a lot of heartbreaks. I have personally
experienced many losses due to overdose, it is something that has become the norm
and that just shouldn’t be. It is not normal to constantly lose people to a disease that
is treatable. That’s why I continue to do this work and fight for one of our most
vulnerable populations.

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?

Lundin: Witnessing individuals and families overcome their struggles with addiction and
living purpose-driven lives.

Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?

Lundin: At Chapters we strive to provide the necessary tools to achieve sustainable,
long-term recovery to allow individuals the opportunity to live a purpose-driven life.
Understanding that addiction is a public health crisis, our overall goal is to promote
wellness for the individual, their family and their community. We aim to help advance
communities and transform lives.

Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given when it comes to success?

Lundin: Commit to God whatever you do and He will make your plans succeed.

Patch: Are there any new projects or endeavors you’re working on that you’re extra excited about? If so, what details can you share and what makes it so exciting?

Lundin: September is National Recovery Month, so I am excited to plan a calendar of events
throughout the month. We will be doing something for National Overdose Awareness
Day on Aug. 31, 2022 to kick off Recovery Month. I’m also working on an alumni event,
and a ribbon cutting ceremony for Chapters.

Patch: Do you have any events coming up in your community? If so, tell us about them.

Lundin: We have a Recovery Basketball Tournament coming up on April 9 Chapters
sponsored the event and will have two teams participating. (In the event of rain, keep an eye out for a rain date.) The tournament will be held at Doherty Park in Charlestown on Bunker Hill St. — starting at 9 a.m. Greater Waltham Recovery Solutions is hosting the event. There will be resource
tables, a DJ/music, a food truck and prizes. Lots of recovery and tons of fun.

Patch: How can Patch readers learn more about your work and business?

Lundin: Patch readers can learn more about Chapters Recovery Center on our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn pages.
